Rice stocks down 6.3%, corn up 40.4% as of Aug 1

THE country’s rice inventory declined in August from a year earlier and the previous month, while corn stocks remained higher year-on-year, according to data from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA). Total rice stocks stood at 2.18 million metric tons (MT) as of Aug. 1, down 6.3 percent from 2.32 million MT a year earlier. The inventory was also 13.3 percent lower than the 2.51 million
